It's been well over 50 years at least! During that period of time the hands produced and supported with genuine spares by Omega has changed many times. The above images shows a 1954 chart of Omega hands and the numbers shown are not the 1954 numbers instead these are the numbers Omega used to designate the hand styles in 1961. At a later date I will add the images of the complete line of hands in 1961. Like everything else the way things are done changes over time. In the past Omega supplied hands by using the caliber number, style number or name and length of the minute hand. I will be adding pages dealing with the old Omega system when time allows. Today's modern hands for new current models are supplied by case number and color. We can also find the exact hand number by the model number on the warranty papers if this is a rather recent model number. We have used the Bestfit stock system for Omega hands. This system by Bestfit was a bit an improvement over Omega's system, which the Bestfit system was based on. The Bestfit system just made it easier for the supplier like us and the watchmakers to stock and find the right Omega hands. Those of you that have the Bestfit Books can find part of the Bestfit Omega Hand system in those books. Over time we received updated cards from Bestfit giving us more information then what is in the Bestfit Books. When ordering a pair of hour and minute hands for old Omega calibers always give the caliber number, style name and color needed along with the length of the minute hand. Same with the small second and sweep second hands. We have no information by model name or date.
